Located at National Grid ref. NO602405. The mediaeval kirk was dedicated to St Ninian and belonged to Arbroath Abbey.

Land owners

In 1790, the only proprietor in the parish was the hon. William Maule (brother of the earl of Dalhousie). In 1835, the sole proprietor was lord Panmure.
